Job will take about an hour

Volunteers are needed for the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) final simulation drill.   This is the “final exam” for CERT students to demonstrate their search/rescue and first aid skills.

We need 5 volunteers to set up the facility to make it look like a disaster has occurred.  This job will take about an hour and begins at 1:00pm.

We also need 27 volunteer "victims”, who are assigned dramatic roles and specific injuries.  A professional make-up artist applies moulage make-up and prosthetics to realistically simulate injuries.  This is an all-day role.  "Victims" are scheduled to arrive between 1:30pm and 2:45pm and are expected to stay for the duration of the drill, which ends at 9:00pm.  When you register you will be given a choice of several moulage make-up options.  We do our best to honor your preferences, but due to the amount of time it takes to apply full make-up, we can't guarantee that everyone who requests "The Works!" will get it.  We also can not guarantee specific injuries.  We do guarantee you will have lots of opportunities to demonstrate your acting skills!

Moulage Make-Up Options:
  • The Works!  Gruesome injury with lots of fake blood.
  • Moderate - full make-up with some fake blood.
  • Mild - light make-up, no fake blood.
  • Acting only - no make-up or fake blood.
  • No preference - whichever level is needed.

ALLERGY ALERTS:

  • Please be advised that some moulage prosthetics are made of latex.  Let the make up artist know if you are allergic to latex.
  • A smoke machine may be used during the drill.  Let staff know if you need to be positioned in a less-smokey area.  Please know that complete avoidance of the smoke is not possible.
  • If you have special dietary  needs please bring your own food, clearly marked with your name.

Snacks are provided throughout the day, and a pizza dinner accompanies the de-briefing after the drill.

Participants must be 14 years old or older.  Students between 14 and 16 years old must be accompanied by a parent.  Students between 16 and 18 years old must have a signed consent form from their parents.

Confirmation, guidelines, a volunteer agreement, and further information will be e-mailed to you.
