You’re at home watching TV, when you hear the Emergency Alert System tones followed by a public announcement to stay indoors and “shelter-in-place.”  Do you know what to do?  Are you prepared with the proper equipment and supplies to shelter-in-place?

Don’t let this scenario catch you unprepared.  Join us for this Shelter-in-Place Basics course.  The instructor is Steve Bennett, CERT Steering Committee Member and coordinator of our Neighborhood Network initiative.

You will learn the different dangers that may trigger a need to shelter in place, how to choose the best location and set up a shelter in place kit for your home and office, and the proper procedures for sheltering in place.  We will have shelter-place kits prepared so that you can inspect the necessary equipment and supplies, and provide hands-on demonstrations of shelter-in-place principals.
