Amateur (Ham) Radio

Telephone and internet communications are often disrupted during a major disaster.  Amateur radio is a great backup plan.  You must have a license from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in order to become a radio operator, but don’t let that deter you – the 35 question exam is not difficult.  The Lake Washington Ham Club is here to help you prepare for the exam and get started in the wonderful hobby of ham radio.

The Lake Washington Ham Club is independent from the Kirkland CERT program, but quite a few folks are members of both organizations.
The Lake Washington Ham Club offers classes several times a year.

For more information about Lake Washington Ham Club, please visit their website: www.LakeWashingtonHamClub.org.
