CERT Final Drill
Class #24
Saturday, November 18, 2017 from 9:00am to 2:00pm

Kirkland's Community Emergency Response Team is having a Disaster Simulation Drill for the current CERT class. This drill is the "final exam" for the new CERTS who have been trained to respond in the event of a disaster. CERTS will practice their skills, which include search and rescue, medical triage, and disaster first aid.

The drill is at Kirkland City Hall. Snacks, beverages, and pizza will be provided. We need two types of volunteers, those who will help set up the facility and those who will act as disaster "victims". Set up volunteers arrive at 7:10am and can expect to stay for about an hour or two. Volunteer "victims" will be assigned staggered arrival times between 7:30am and 9:30am based on their preferred level of moulage. Our professional moulage artist will transform the "victims" with realistic injuries - including lots of fake blood!

Moulage Make-Up Options:

  • The Works! Gruesome injury with lots of fake blood.
  • Moderate - full make-up with some fake blood.
  • Mild - light make-up, no fake blood.
  • Acting only - no make-up or fake blood.
  • No preference - whichever level is needed.

All volunteers must be pre-registered. We are not able to accommodate non-registered walk-in volunteers.

Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age. Volunteers aged 14-16 must have a parent or guardian present for the duration of the drill. All volunteers under the age of 18 must have a consent form signed by their parents.
