This is the 26th CERT class here in Kirkland, our CERT instructors refer to it as "CERT 26".

The CERT Syllabus is the best way to keep track of class topics and locations each week.  We will be at the Kirkland City Hall for all classes EXCEPT Fire Suppression - which is held at Fire Station #26 in North Rose Hill.

The course consists of a series of eight (8) classes and ends with a full-scale disaster simulation to take place on Saturday, November 3, 2018Participants must attend all 8 classes and the final drill in order to graduate.  A graduation ceremony will be held during a City Council meeting at City Hall on a Tuesday at 7:00pm (date to be determined).  A small party with cake will immediately follow.

The program meets once a week on Mondays from 6:00p.m. to 9:00p.m.
Class dates are: 9/10, 9/17, 9/24 (at fire station), 10/1, 10/8, 10/15, 10/22, 10/29, and the drill is on Saturday, 11/3.

FEMA Independent Study Online Courses

All participants must complete the online FEMA Independent Study course 317 before class begins.  IS-317 is an introduction to CERT; completing the online training ahead of time will allow us to minimize lecturing from PowerPoints and instead, focus on hands-on experience during our class time.

You may access the course via this link: https://training.fema.gov/is/courseoverview.aspx?code=is-317.

You will need a copy of your completion certificate, which will be emailed to you from FEMA.

Kirkland’s CERT program also requests that participants take FEMA's ICS 100.b and NIMS 700.a courses.

ICS - Incident Command System 100.b

NIMS - National Incident Management System 700.a
