OUR CERT COMMUNITYThere are two types of Kirkland CERT community members, "Kirkland CERT Team Members" and "Friends of Kirkland CERT". A Team Member has completed CERT training and is willing to participate in their neighborhood team's activities. A Friend is anyone who would like to be a part of our CERT community who does not qualify as a Team Member. Friends of Kirkland CERT might be volunteer drill "victims", students of a CERT class in progress, or any Kirkland resident interested in emergency preparedness. Keep in touch - Become a member of our CERT Community!
More about Kirkland CERT Teams Kirkland's CERT teams are organized by neighborhood. For more information about current neighborhood CERT team activities, please visit our CERT / KAN Neighborhood Forum page. In November, 2013 the CERT Steering Committee hosted a Neighborhood Team Kick Off Meeting and brought together CERTs in each neighborhood. CERTs met each other, decided on a point-of-contact person, and established neighborhood meeting places. Team member contact information was distributed and this website, www.KirklandCERT.com, was debuted. Kirkland CERT Team Members can log on to this website to access the Members Area, where each neighborhood has a web page. Neighborhood web pages list the team's meeting place and contain an online member directory. Forums have also been established to facilitate communication between team members. Neighborhood teams are encouraged to meet semi-annually to renew their acquaintance and reevaluate the meeting place for suitability. The CERT Steering Committee is here to support the neighborhood teams; please don't hesitate to ask if there is anything we can do for you. Each neighborhood is guided by an association. The neighborhood associations are a wealth of information for residents. More information about Kirkland's neighborhoods can be found on the city website.
